The Electoral College meets on December 19 to determine our next President. Generally, Electors are bound to vote for the candidate who won their state’s vote, and some states have enacted penalties to help assure Electors do not vote otherwise. Since the founding of the Electoral College, there have been 157 so called “Faithless Electors.” Of these, 82 lead to electoral votes changed on the personal initiative of the elector.
